Who we are
sportevents is run by Sportevents bvba, Nisramont 45 L, 6983 Ortho, Belgium, company number 0843.237.826. We are responsible (the "controller") for the personal data collected on this website. For any question about your data, write to info@sportevents.eu.
Registration and payment for our events take place on the Passion For Sports platform (passionforsports.eu). What happens to your data there is described in the privacy policy on that platform.
What we collect and why
- "Notify Me": your name, email address, the event and your language, to tell you when registration opens and send news about that event. Based on your consent. We keep it until you ask us to remove it, or until it is no longer relevant to that event.
- Contact form: your name, email address, message, topic and the event you choose, to answer you. The message reaches us by email. Based on our legitimate interest in answering your question; kept as long as needed to handle it.
- Signing in: if you sign in to your Passion For Sports account on this site, a cookie keeps you signed in for up to 7 days. Needed to provide the service you ask for.
- Visiting the site: our servers record technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. Based on our legitimate interest; kept only for a short period.
- Partner campaign links: when you arrive through a link with a campaign code, we count the visit under that code. Only the code is recorded, not who you are.
- Advertising (only with your consent): if you accept marketing cookies, the Meta pixel sends Meta the pages you visit and actions such as clicking "Register", signing up for "Notify Me", sending the contact form or filtering the race list, together with Meta cookie identifiers and your browser's technical data. We use this to measure our adverts and show relevant ones. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Meta (Facebook, Instagram)
For collecting and sending data with the Meta pixel, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. are joint controllers. Meta's own use of the data is described in Meta's privacy policy. Without your consent for marketing cookies, the Meta pixel is not loaded and nothing is sent to Meta.
Passing on to Passion For Sports
When you click "Register", you go to passionforsports.eu. The link tells the platform which of our sites you came from. With your consent for marketing cookies, it also carries your Meta cookie identifiers and the campaign that brought you (utm parameters), so that the result of our adverts can be measured.
Who else receives data
- Our hosting and database providers, who run the site for us.
- Twilio SendGrid, which delivers the contact form's emails.
- Meta, only with your consent (see above).
- Passion For Sports, when you click "Register".
- Mapbox, when a page shows a route map, and YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode), only when you press play on a video. These load content from their servers, which then see your IP address.
- Cloudflare (cdnjs), which delivers the icons the site uses.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Transfers there rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, ask us to restrict or stop using it, and ask for a copy in a usable format. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time; for cookies, use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Write to info@sportevents.eu.
You may also complain to a data protection authority: in Belgium the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données, in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the authority where you live.
